TEETH WHITENING

Seattle Dental Implants & Prosthodontics – Seattle, WA

Having a beautiful smile may be even easier than you think. Many people achieve the look they have been dreaming of with our simple ‘bleaching’ procedure.

What are the details of Teeth Whitening?

It is safe, quick and relatively inexpensive.  We offer in-office bleaching or customized trays that you can use at home. Should you choose to have bleaching performed in the office, you will need to set about 2 ½ hours of time aside. Our highly trained hygienist will use a strong bleaching component in conjunction with an Ultra-violet (UV) light to brighten your teeth that day. An advantage of in-office whitening are the faster results you will see as opposed to whitening at home, which can take longer.

However, not all patients have the time to set aside to bleach in the office and therefore prefer customized bleaching trays which allows them to bleach at their convenience. Bleaching ‘at home’ means the patient can more closely monitor the shade of their teeth and can take the trays with them anywhere they go!

Dental bleaching can be used to correct tooth discoloration caused by staining, aging, or chemical damage to teeth. Using the latest in bleaching technology, we can offer a safe method for creating a beautiful, brilliant smile. In cases of extreme tooth discoloration, crowns or veneers may be the best choice.  However, due to the low cost of bleaching treatments in comparison to crowns and/or veneers, bleaching is nearly always worth a try.

What can cause tooth discoloration?

There are many causes. The most common include aging and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, or tobacco over time. During tooth formation the use of tetracycline, certain antibiotics, or excessive fluoride may also cause tooth discoloration.

Key Benefits of Teeth Whitening:

  • Corrects brown, yellow and mottled teeth stains.
  • Improves the aesthetics of your smile, regardless of age.
  • It is a near-permanent solution for a “dull” smile, restoring brightness and brings a smile alive.

Who may benefit from tooth whitening?

Just about anyone can benefit from tooth whitening. However, treatment may not be as effective for some as it is for others. With an exam, Dr. Chung can determine if you are a candidate for this procedure, or what alternative solution would be best for you.
